Victory Ride
For years we kept saying we ought to have a ride for our Victory Owners. This year we decided to "just do it".
On Sunday, Aug 21st, the morning broke with rain in the sky. Was this going to be another example of the best laid plans? Only time would tell. It would rain, then stop, only to rain again, but by 9:30am it had gotten to the stage of being simply overcast.
10am rolled around, 6 bikes were gather. (We had sent out letters saying we would leave at 10am sharp!). By 10:10 six had jumped to 16, and when we left we had 26 bikes, mostly all Victory Motorcycles joining us in a 100 mile romp around the Lake Region of NH.
East on 4, 104, then 3, with a stop in downtown Meredith to check out the Lake, Ben & Jerry's, and of course the restroom. The big question on everyone's mind: "Why didn't we ride around Meredith HD parking lot instead of just riding by it?"
Back on the road, to Holderness, 175 & 175A to Plymouth, Rumney, Canaan and beyond. The tranquility of Squam Lake was replaced with the magestic view of the NH Mountains. One of our riders even had a black bear cross his path!
Back at Shaker Valley, in plenty of time for a great picnic, door prizes, and of course just relaxing with friends. Many thanks to the Crate/LaCroix family for being Chiefs of the day.
All told, the ride was a rousing success. Talk is that we had so much fun, we're thinking of doing one again this Fall!
Thanks everyone, for making it a great ride!
